Responsibilities


  1. Understand the business plans and priorities of various Amazon business units such as Retail, Prime, Video, Kindle, Music, App-store, among others.
  2. Act as a forward-thinking thought leader to internal management members in developing strategies to advance Amazon’s presence.
  3. Identify partnership opportunities with leading companies including digital/eCommerce companies, media, electronics, services and other large-scale consumer businesses.
  4. Engage our target partner companies by articulating the company’s vision, services, and value propositions to customers and partners.
  5. Structure deals which are aligned with the interests of the company, customers and partners.
  6. Drive all aspects of both external and internal negotiations to a successful close.
  7. Lead cross-functional teams to manage initiatives associated with the deals.
  8. Develop and manage senior-level relations with the company’s partner companies.
  9. Monitor the performance of existing deals and partnerships on a regular basis.
  10. Own account management activities on a regular basis to create additional opportunities.

Requirements


  1. Candidates should be based in Japan / willing to relocate to JP
  2. Superior verbal and written communications skills in both Japanese and English
  3. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
  4. 10+ years of work experience in Business Development / M&A / JV / Alliances in consumer space
  5. Demonstrated ability to close partnerships with large Japanese companies and to engage and influence C-level executives
  6. Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences
  7. Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  8. Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions
  9. Past BD experience in ecommerce / telco would be an added advantage.
