Responsibilities


  1. Support the development and execution of media relations activities, including developing relationships with and briefing financial reporters (including from Japanese and international media outlets), and managing responses to media inquiries on finance topics.
  2. Support planning and executing of earned, owned, and paid media strategies to effectively communicate company's growth narrative internally and externally.
  3. Support the development of quarterly financial communications, including content creation and localization, and execute them with excellence. Collaborate with other team members beyond the reporting line and work proactively and collaboratively with related internal functions, Business Units (BUs), Local Operating Companies (LOCs), and external partners, primarily in Tokyo and Boston.
  4. Worked as part of a team to manage and grow our retail investor program, including developing newsletter content and investor materials, supporting presentations by the company's executive team members, analyzing and communicating retail investor trends, and developing new initiatives to grow our subscriber base.
  5. Develop and maintain relevant information about the company for use with external audiences, including fact sheets, messaging documents, infographic copy, boilerplates, leadership bios, and other written external materials.
  6. Align closely with other departments, including attending internal communicator meetings, understanding communication goals/objectives, managing issues proactively, and responding to requests promptly.
  7. Support communications activities associated with Annual Shareholders Meeting. 

Requirements


Education and Skills:
  1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
  2. Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry communications environment, with a thorough grounding in the complexities and issues relating to operating in the global pharmaceutical industry, is preferred.
  3. Familiarity with financial terms and reporting is required.
  4. Copyediting and proofreading experience.
  5. An exceptionally strong eye for detail, with solid strategic, analytical, and planning skills, as well as a creative approach to problem-solving.
  6. Strong communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
  7. Ability to prioritize and execute with excellence in high-pressure situations and with short deadlines.
  8. Native level of English or Japanese with business-level competency or above in both
