Responsibilities
Strategy Development
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Takeda and each function’s (Global Finance, Corporate Strategy, Global Corporate Affairs, Global General Counsel and Business Development) communications landscapes.
• Define functional priorities and craft compelling and engaging communications strategies to ensure employees understand individual, team and global impact and expectations according to the Takeda’s corporate philosophy and functional visions.
• Proactively and reactively update the communications strategy based on continuous measurement, shifting priorities and changes in business needs.
Communications Planning & Execution
• Act as a primary liaison between Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Strategy Officer, Chief Global Corporate Affairs Officer, Global General Counsel, Global Business Development Officer and Global Internal/External Communications.
• Provide communications support to the leadership in each function and increase visibility and impact of leadership communications through key events and channels globally (executive notes, key message, media interviews, presentation material, town halls, newsletters).
• Co-create and manage functional editorial calendar with the function to better coordinate and plan communication activities aligned with corporate and functional priorities.
• Co-manage and leverage communication channels (myTakeda, Yammer, Email) with the function.
• Support global project rollout in each function.
• Lead development of CFO’s executive positioning plan working closely with Media Relations team.
• Partner with Finance Communications team, Enterprise Storytelling team and Investor Relations team on developing internal quarterly earnings announcement for all employees.
• Serve as the communications lead for Global CSR voting program working closely with Global CSR team.
Stakeholder Management.
• Act as a trusted resource and develop strong relationships with colleagues at all levels.
• Build relationships; counsel and advise on cross-business unit / -function initiatives in close collaboration with subject matter experts / functions.
Requirements
• Experience (minimum five years) in corporate communications with a specialization in executive communications, advancing internal communications objectives, increasing employee engagement and driving behavior change in complex, multicultural organizations undergoing change.
• Minimum five years experience in a senior communications role - healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience strongly desired but not essential - preferably supporting Corporate function's communications in multinational companies.
• Experience writing and editing as part of corporate communications for a minimum of five years
• Experience in external communication with various stakeholders including media and suppliers
• Managerial experience in corporate communications with the ability to balance a number of programs/projects simultaneously and oversee multiple communications platforms and channels.
• Proven record of building and maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships - within teams, across the business, and with senior leaders and external agencies.
• Ability to successfully collaborate with others to identify needs, provide guidance, and create and communicate solutions.
• Lateral thinker capable of addressing business needs in creative ways.
• Experience and understanding of multicultural, international businesses.
• A pragmatic and flexible approach to personal time management, given that calls/meetings with your stakeholders may take place in different time zones from your own
