02-06 Sr. Legal Counsel - Japan and Korea 法律顧問(シニアレベル)

1. Advising senior management and cross-functional teams regarding company operations in Japan and Korea, highlighting potential legal risks and regulatory and compliance obligations
2. Undertaking legal reviews of company’s product offerings and business initiatives in Japan and Korea, working closely with company’s global product lead counsel and government relations team, and engaging with regulators and authorities where necessary
3. Negotiating and drafting a wide variety of commercial agreements, and respond to a diverse range of legal requests from business units spanning corporate, commercial, IP licensing, privacy, regulatory and content
4. Participating in regional or global-focused projects as required
5. Conducting training for the business on legal and compliance matters as required
6. Developing and maintaining connections with other industry lawyers in the region



1. LLB, JD or equivalent qualification and strong academic credentials from a top law school in Japan, Korea, the US, the UK or other highly recognized jurisdiction.
2. A minimum of 12 years’ legal experience, with at least 3 years at a premier Japanese, Korean or international law firm.
3. If you do not have experience in a law firm, then you have In-house experience with a global company.
4. Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
5. Demonstrated experience advising clients on a wide range of subject matters, including corporate, commercial, IP licensing, privacy, regulatory and content.
6. Strong interpersonal, communication, social and management skills, with proven ability to lead several simultaneous projects within required deadlines.
7. Ability to work well independently as well as in a cross-functional team and establish rapport and trust with internal clients and external suppliers and customers.
8. Willing to travel as and when required.
9. Fluent in verbal and written Japanese/Korean and English.
