 1. Identify and acquire key client partnerships opportunities across the Japan market. The role is part hunter and part farmer, but the most critical responsibility is to develop deep and strategic relationships with our commercial partners.
2. Drive the implementation of partners onto the website by working with the partner as well as internal teams and own the process through to implementation of those deals to get them ‘on site’. You will then ensure the health of those implementations is maintained by constantly working with internal and external teams.
3. Ongoing account management, ensuring continued optimization of all deals, and identifying and pursuing all opportunities for up-sell (e.g. display advertising, data partnerships, partner marketing opportunities). Perform monthly account management duties that including invoicing and constantly reviewing partner performance. 

4. Apply analytical skills to understand our clients’ changing business needs to develop and execute account plans that position as a strategic and trusted partner. 

5. Monitor relevant performance metrics and efficiently manage time to focus on activities that grow revenue and ensure client satisfaction.
6. Liaison with colleagues in other regional squads to ensure that any and all cross-sell opportunities are identified and acted upon. 

7. Liaison with colleagues in other regions to identify expansion opportunities for local Japanese companies looking to expend globally and vice versa. 

8. Contribute to the ongoing definition and refinement of market and channel specific sales strategies, the implementation plans underpinning delivery of those strategies, and active input to the continuing evolution of companies products and commercial propositions. 

9. As the senior sales manager in the Japan office, you will provide support and mentoring to the broader team and act as the key senior sales manager in the office. You will likely assume management responsibility of a small team (2-3 people). 

10. Communicate professionally to both internal and external stakeholders, coordinating with other functional and support areas in the business. 

11. Forecast revenue and partner traffic accurately based on detailed data analysis, liaise with accounting team for invoicing purposes.


1. Minimal Bachelor’s Degree level.
2. 5+ years’ proven success in consultative or solution-selling environment as well as client management.
3. Highly data driven and analytical.

4. Strong technical acumen. We don’t expect you to be an engineer but we expect you to be able to coordinate and work with engineers.
5. Previous online sales experience within the travel industry is an advantage; but generally, any online business development or sales background will be of interest.
6. An excellent understanding of online media, including knowledge of search engines and portals.
7. Exposure in an international and technology oriented business environment.

8. An ability to communicate value and influence decision makers.
